Visit our Stations…
On a grassy hilltop next to the center, there is a meditaiton garden with 14 stations of the cross that mark the key events of Jesus on his way to Calvary. Each station has a prayer and offers incredible views of Baker Mountain and surrounding hillsides. The stations were finished in 2017, and have started receiving some visitors (including the wild turkeys seen in the photo). Inquire here to find out how you can make these rich meditations part of your experience this Lent.

Evangelization Training Camp

The Diocese of Charlotte is proud to offer an
Evangelization Training Camp
for campus ministry student leaders,
in conjunction with The Evangelical Catholic.

What’s been happening…

68 students college students used the conference center as a jumping off point to volunteer at area nursing homes, thrift stores, food pantries and the like. Some even did some needed work at the conference center. Thank-you to all the folks in Campus Ministry!

Last February, the NC Forest services once again chose to use the 180 acres surrounding the center to conduct drills.

Three parishes converged to have their confirmation retreats at the center: St. Joseph in Newton, Queen of the Apostles, and St. Therese. Three seminarians from St. Joseph College Seminary joined St. Joseph, the parish, for theirs.

We have received 2/3rds of our goal of $10,000 to improve the chapel area, and donations are still flowing in. The 4″ wooden louver shutters are on order. Selection is beginning for the other liturgical vessels and items including chalices, statues, monstrance, and altar cloths. If you would like to help in improving the chapel, follow this link:

Or please contact Deacon Scott D. Gilfillan if you might want to help in either purchasing or locating these items from various sources. Thank you for all of your generosity and support in making the center a great place for evangelization and renewal!
