The Executive Chef & Kitchen Manager

This is a key position for a full-service conference and retreat center, with lodging rooms and meeting facilities for over 200 people. He/she will oversee the entire kitchen and dining area at the center. This includes preparing breakfast, lunch dinner, and breaks for all of the guests, both weekdays and weekends. Other duties include recruiting and hiring staff, scheduling and management of all kitchen/dining personnel; monitoring ServSafe sanitation practices; menu planning, tracking food and labor costs to meet cost/profitability objectives; ordering all food/chemical/paper goods; performing kitchen/dining equipment maintenance; and developing recipe. The Executive Chef will also need to be familiar with and able to accommodate a large number of special dietary needs. 

The ideal person will have significant culinary experience, at least ten years of experience in catering to large groups, and an ability to lead and direct staff. A degree in culinary arts would be a plus. He/she must also be willing to not only direct staff, but do the actual food preparation and clean-up as circumstances require. He/she must maintain the high quality standards of the center, which consistently receives perfect or near perfect sanitation grades and exceptionally high praise from all of the guests from their dining experience.

Center Hospitality Associates

Hospitality Associates can perform a variety of tasks at the Catholic Conference Center to enhance our guest’s experience. In the kitchen, the associate assists the chef and kitchen staff setting up the dining room for meal service, dishwashing and clean-up of the dining room following the meal.  In Guest Services and Housekeeping, the associate welcomes the guests, assists in setting up and cleaning the meeting rooms, public restrooms, lobby and lounge area. We try to match individuals with their particular talents and abilities.  Schedule options include weekdays, nights, and weekends – a perfect part-time job.  Pay range is $8.00 to $10.00 per hour depending on job and experience.
