The Executive Chef & Kitchen Manager
This is a key position for a full-service conference and retreat center, with lodging rooms and meeting facilities for over 200 people. He/she will oversee the entire kitchen and dining area at the center. This includes preparing breakfast, lunch dinner, and breaks for all of the guests, both weekdays and weekends. Other duties include recruiting and hiring staff, scheduling and management of all kitchen/dining personnel; monitoring ServSafe sanitation practices; menu planning, tracking food and labor costs to meet cost/profitability objectives; ordering all food/chemical/paper goods; performing kitchen/dining equipment maintenance; and developing recipe. The Executive Chef will also need to be familiar with and able to accommodate a large number of special dietary needs.
The ideal person will have significant culinary experience, at least ten years of experience in catering to large groups, and an ability to lead and direct staff. A degree in culinary arts would be a plus. He/she must also be willing to not only direct staff, but do the actual food preparation and clean-up as circumstances require. He/she must maintain the high quality standards of the center, which consistently receives perfect or near perfect sanitation grades and exceptionally high praise from all of the guests from their dining experience.
Center Lead Associate
This is a key full-time position for Center Lead Associate. We’re looking for a generalist type individual that can perform a variety of activities in Guest Services, Facilities Maintenance, and Housekeeping. Pay range $14.00/hr and up, depending on experience. The person will be the point of contact for outside suppliers, service providers and contractors for the center. Ability to perform room set-ups, simple maintenance, and housekeeping is required. The individual must have a welcoming presentation to the public, an ability to juggle assignments in a team environment, and an availability to work flexible hours and weekends. Familiarity with MS Office products a plus.
