Meet Our Staff
Deacon Scott has a wide range of experience facilitating groups and leading retreats for parishes, RCIA programs, and deacon candidates. Ordained as a Catholic deacon in 2001, he later was appointed Director of Deacon Formation for the Diocese of Charlotte, guiding deacon candidates and their wives in discernment and formation. Drawing upon a diverse background in ministry, engineering, and general management, he is deploying a range of talents to follow his passion: providing a fertile ground for personal growth, renewal, and conversion. Deacon Scott is also available for spiritual direction for anyone who is interested.
Kris has enjoyed 35+ years of experience in the world of hotels, restaurants, and catering. She has worked in all aspects of the hospitality industry from food sales to event planning and design to Executive Chef positions. Her greatest joy is the interaction with guests, successfully taking care of their needs, and creating lasting working relationships with them. For nearly 4 years, she has delighted in the position of Executive Chef at the Center and is now taking all of her talents to the next level, overseeing the needs of the guests beyond ‘soup to nuts’ to helping individuals and groups plan and execute exceptional events and retreats.
Gilda, former owner of Rose and Daisy Restaurant, has brought her love of cooking to the Catholic Conference Center. In Gilda’s kitchen, everything is made with love, including her deliciously authentic Italian dishes like homemade gnocchi or stuffed cannoli shells. She’s also used her two master’s degrees to plan meetings and community health events for national and international organizations. But her true love is cooking and interacting with people. Don’t be surprised to see her in the dining room talking to all of our guests!
Frank has the perfect combination of skills and experience to help the center flourish. He unites his deep Catholic faith with a desire to serve. Throughout his career, he has acquired a wide range of electrical, carpentry, and maintenance skills. Frank can easily go from making sure an event is unfolding smoothly to working behind the scenes in to make sure the facilities are perfectly maintained. Between the two, Frank makes sure the guests have a great experience from the moment they set foot on the property to the moment they leave.
