Martha and Mary, models of hospitality and renewal…
Ever wonder what it would be like to spend a few days in the home of Martha and Mary (Lk 10:38-42)? Martha, renowned for her hospitality, bustling about making sure every need of yours is met. Mary, the icon of attentive listening, sitting at the feet of Jesus and reflecting upon each word. Each in their own way provided their honored guest a superior place of welcome and renewal.
The opportunity to experience both hospitality and renewal might be closer that you think. Guests of the conference center consistently mention the same two themes. They praise the hospitality they receive during their visit – from the greeters at the front desk to the servers in the dining area. The center staff strives to serve each guest as Martha, as if they’re in fact serving the Lord. There is also a beauty to the center that invites thoughtful reflection and listening. Like Mary, guests listen to the highly regarded speakers, reflect in the quiet chapel, or gain new direction in life as they walk the well-maintained grounds.
You’ll find a few of the upcoming events listed in the schedule below. I hope you can find one that appeals to you, so you can experience a taste of the hospitality and renewal offered in the home of Martha and Mary.

Conference center wish list…
In my first six months, many have asked me how they can help enhance the center’s mission of evangelization and renewal. Here are a few thoughts:
Help purchase a new monstrance, for the many groups who are now having a perpetual adoration.
Convert the softball field into a soccer field and make the area a more inviting for soccer, ultimate frisbee, kickball…
Wall Statues of Mary and Joseph on the walls flanking the altar in the chapel.
Volunteer time to post on our social media sites (Facebook, website, other outlets).
Donate some time helping out in the office or around the center.
If you have an interest in any of the above, or have some ideas of your own, please contact me, Deacon Scott Gilfillan, I am grateful for all of the generosity and support you have given me in this new position.
May the peace of Chirst, which is beyond all understanding, be with you always.
