Reading the Signs of the Times through the Eyes of St. Francis

Finding Hope and Joy in Rapidly Changing World

Two Day Retreat: August 16 – 18, 2019

The Center is pleased to offer a unique two day retreat: Reading the Signs of the Times through the Eyes of Saint Francis. The sessions will guide the participants toward ways to live the Christian faith in what sometimes feels like a post-Christian world, and inspire all to find hope and joy amidst life’s countless changes.

The retreat master, Father Peter Tremblay, is uniquely qualified to lead this journey. He is a Franciscan Friar and has taught philosophy and theology, ministered in parish settings, and is currently the Campus Catholic Minister and Chaplain at Elon University. With this varied experience, he offers a unique perspective on emerging trends and a Franciscan response. Participants will discover ways to ways to deepen their faith, enliven their hope, and share that same joy that Saint Francis modelled as he responded to his personal call to holiness and prayer in the midst of challenging times.

In addition to the sessions, Mass will be celebrated both Saturday and Sunday. A time for confession will be available Saturday afternoon.

The price includes all meals, lodging, taxes and retreat materials. Each room at The Center has been recently renovated and is equipped with two full-sized beds and a private bath. The Center has a dining area with a full-time chef who will prepare a hot breakfast and three course meals for both lunch and dinner. In addition to delicious food and well-appointed lodging, other main features of The Center are its beautiful architecture, various sacred spaces, and 180 acres of both wooded trails and nicely manicured lawns.
