History
The Catholic Conference Center was originally built in 1988 by the Catholic Diocese of Charlotte to be a place for place for training, renewal and growth for the growing number of Catholics in Western North Carolina. Its mission of renewal and growth has remained the same over the years, but has also expanded to include any church, business or organization looking for a unique place to come together. In 2019 over 6,000 people came to the center to take advantage of the peaceful, pastoral setting with meeting rooms, lodging, and a dining areas all under one roof. Both local and national organizations as well as religious and non-religious groups regularly reserve the center for thier event. In 2014, the center underwent a major renovation which included updating the lodging rooms and giving the meeting and dining areas a contemporary, upscale feel while at the same time continuing to provide a beautiful and sacred spaces for reflection and contemplation.
