Fall has finally arrived. There is a little nip in the air, and the sugar maples on the property are showing brilliant shades of yellow, orange, and red. I receive great pleasure from the landscaping on the property and marvel at the genius of the original landscape architects. Each season has a beauty of its own, the variety of autumn colors and textures being no exception.
Seeing the maple trees changing colors reminds me of another simple little pleasure at The Center: Maple Bacon Biscuits. This is one of the new breakfast items. Coupled with some cheddar scrambled eggs and fruit, it’s a mouth-watering delight – one of my favorites.
If you’d like to enjoy the changing seasons and a savory breakfast, we’ve got a wonderful Advent retreat coming up by Broken Door Ministries – Blessed, Broken and Scared. Please consider joining us this weekend and ponder the mystery of Jesus bringing blessings upon a broken world, and learning how we in Christ can get beyond our brokenness and do the same. As an added incentive, you’ll also be treated to some maple bacon biscuits for breakfast!
Director, Catholic Conference Center PS 81: Open wide your mouth, and I will fill it.
