In the spring of 2014 we began working with K2M Architects in Charlotte to plan for the future of the Center and feel confident that our guests will be pleased with the major enhancements we are making to the facility.

One of the first things that returning guests will notice is the new signage on our property. We have replaced the sign at the entrance to the Center with a bright, distinctive sign that is mounted between two stone columns. Once on the property guests will be directed to the main entrance of the Center with new directional signs that incorporate the same colors and design theme. During the next several months we will be making improvements to the landscaping and meditation gardens on the south lawn of the Center.

As you enter the building you will notice a newly designed lobby and reception area creating a warm and welcoming atmosphere, which will also facilitate a more efficient check-in procedure. New flooring, lighting and wall treatments throughout the facility create an environment of calm and peacefulness. Adjacent to the main lobby is a new gift shop that includes books, rosaries, jewelry, artwork and unique religious gift items.

The large conference room has new carpeting, a new state-of-the-art sound system with wireless microphones and a seating capacity of 216.  The newly remodeled lounge area adjacent to the large conference room has all new carpeting, lighting, seating and a beverage station.  Guests requiring an area for accessing the Internet or business related activities will be able to utilize a work area and printer in the lounge.  Wireless connectivity to the Internet is now available throughout the building.  The dining room has been completely remodeled to provide for a much more intimate dining experience.  New dining room tables and chairs provide a variety of seating configurations.

The Mountain View conference room on the second floor provides a panoramic view of Baker’s Mountain and has been expanded to provide for additional seating. A small room is directly adjoining to it for a breakout space. There is also a small parlor on the second floor for private one-on-one meetings or a just a quiet place to read and reflect.

The guest rooms have undergone major renovation with new floor, wall and window coverings and new lighting in the bedroom, bathroom and vanity areas. The tubs and showers have all been refurbished and the new furniture creates a welcoming and comfortable space for relaxing, reading or prayerful reflection.

As the population of the Diocese of Charlotte continues to grow, the Catholic Conference Center is well positioned to meet the ever-increasing needs of parishes, groups and individuals who seek a quiet, sacred environment for their meeting or retreat. If you have utilized the Catholic conference Center in the past, we encourage you to come see the many changes to our newly remodeled facility. If you are new to the Diocese and have never been to the Conference Center we invite you to stop in for a tour and see for yourself the beauty of our 180 acres of rolling hills and wide-open spaces.
