A message from the director:
On June 30, we finished our fiscal year. I am pleased to report that thanks to you and to many other satisfied guests and faithful supporters, we’ve had our best year ever. Dozens of new groups have discovered the beauty and unique features we offer. Others that have visited us in the past have continued to return to repeat the amazing experience. To help the cause, an impressive number of volunteers have donated their time and talent to beautify the center and heighten the experience of all of our guests.
My message today is simple: THANK-YOU for all of your help and support in promoting our mission of evangelization and renewal!
Reading the Signs of the Times through the Eyes of St. Francis
Finding Hope and Joy in a Rapidly Changing World

The Center invites all to experience this one of a kind retreat, and tap into the unbridled joy and hope Saint Francis found in a rapidly changing world. Franciscan Friar Father Peter Tremblay will be the retreat master and will offer a unique perspective on emerging trends and a Franciscan response. Participants will discover ways to deepen their faith, enliven their hope, and share that same joy of St. Francis in the midst of challenging times.

The Family Life program of the Diocese of Charlotte offers one-day marriage preparation workshops to help couples continue to build a solid foundation for their marriage. The format for the workshop includes presentations, journaling, private partner-to-partner discussions, and small and large group discussions. Workshop topics include:
The retreat is focused on learning to utilize the graces of the sacrament of matrimony in your daily life in order to help you, your spouse and family on your path to heaven. Time for prayer, mass, spiritual talks, and "wasting time together" with your spouse. Come strengthen your marriage with a program designed by a priest from Poland who was friends with Saint JPII.

Chapel Renovations about Complete
We received new statues, made from olive wood carved by a family in Bethlehem – just for the center. They’ll look amazing on the walls of the renovated chapel. Special thanks to the person who bought one of the two, and the many others who helped with the improvements.
Now we need just the right shelves. Anyone handy with woodworking?
MISSION TRIP 2019: THRIVE
Uses The Center for Jumping Off Point
Youth Ministry from the Holy Name of Jesus Cathedral in Raleigh joined with the Infractum Youth Ministry at St. Aloysius in Hickory, and spent a week doing volunteer work around the Hickory area as part of their MISSION TRIP 2019: THRIVE. The work included some greatly appreciated landscaping around the center.
The Center Hosting a Two Night Retreat
Through some discussions with a handful of secular Franciscans as well as some Knights of Columbus, the nucleaus of an idea for a retreat began to be formed. Please consider joining us for our maiden voyage in planning retreats of this magnitude, in a weekend that promises to be enlightening and tranformative.
